An exploration of string trio works - both old and new - exploring the concept of "variations." Jeffrey Mumford's in soft echoes...a world awaits blends different hues of jewel tones in a kaleidoscopic light while the slowly evolving dynamic shifts bind the gentle qualities of Marti Epstein's Barcarolle. Scelsi's Trio for Strings subtly - and not so subtly - explores pitch variation while Kaija Saariaho seamlessly weaves different textures in her in her Cloud Trio, offering a final expression on the concept of "variations." This program is approximately one hour in length.
